It's the Economy

If you can possibly stay during the week (including Sunday night), you will find some real bargains in Las Vegas. Hotel room rates tend to double and triple on Friday and Saturday nights because that is when excitement seekers drive from Los Angeles to spend the weekend there.

Lately, even on weekends, bargains in Las Vegas have never been better. The economy has hit Las Vegas hard and they have to fill up their hotel rooms.
There have always been some cheap hotel rooms in Las Vegas if you were willing to stay Downtown or off the strip but now even the ultra luxury hotels like Caesars Palace and the Mirage are offering ultra low rates (especially on weekdays).
